If you know me well, you know how I feel about onions. Just seeing the word on the menu is usually a deal-breaker for me. But, I committed to review every item on the Izzy’s menu and it was finally time to try something with onion on it. I am so glad I did. The Spicy Delight now stands in my top three Izzy’s sandwiches. The rye roll with pastrami and melted swiss is near perfection, and the addition of a blend of minced olives and sweet peppers tops it off nicely. Despite my hypersensitivity to onions, I found it to complement the other flavors, rather than overwhelm. This was a major step in getting over my strong dislike of an ingredient and I look forward to my next Spicy Delight.
