Ranking the Reubens!

At the outset, I must say that I enjoyed every one of these. I highly recommend that if you have a favorite, you should still try them all. You will probably be surprised at what you find out, just as I was. Read on for my totally subjective rankings. I would love to see your feedback in the comments.

9. Beef Frank Deluxe Reuben—With so many other great meats to choose from, it is hard for the beef frank to measure up.

8. Veggie Reuben—My love of green olives gives this the edge over the BFD. If your favorite reuben ingredient is sauerkraut, this will probably be your number one.

7. The Reubenator—Delicious. Filling. Nothing wrong with that.

6. Pastrami Reuben—PRETZEL ROLL. Need I say more?

5. Goetta Reuben—Love the goetta. I prefer my goetta on breakfast sandwiches, though.

4. Izzy’s Famous Reuben—You can never go wrong with the classic that started it all.

3. 110 Reuben—Not the whole thing. But if you can share it with friends, you will be amazed at how great the flavor of the potato pancake on the reuben is. If you’re not ready for this behemoth, slide your potato pancake onto your standard reuben and enjoy.

2. Turkey Reuben—I’m just as surprised as you are that this ended up ranked so high for me. Turkey is far down the list of my favorite deli meats, but everything about this sandwich just clicks. It must be the sweet-n-sour coleslaw that takes the place of the sauerkraut. Whatever it is, it made me want to order this again and again.

1. Cod Reuben—Back when I was just another Izzy’s regular, Ashley at the Main Street location suggested that I had to try the cod reuben. She was persuasive and I gave in pretty quickly. The sandwich was so good that when I got back to the office I immediately went on Izzy’s website to give positive feedback and thank Ashley for her recommendation. After you have the cod reuben, you’ll probably want to go here http://izzys.com/talktous.php and sing its praises. Bow down to The Codfather.
