The last thing I expected from a sandwich topped with onion and horseradish was a sweet taste. The Uncle Ron was a pleasant surprise. Izzy’s famous corned beef is topped with swiss cheese, tomato, onion, and a special horseradish sauce. Whatever is in the special sauce, it complemented the onion and tomato perfectly and had a sweet finish. I was honestly not anticipating enjoying this sandwich as much as I did. The toasted rye, onion and tomato provided for a nice crunch. I’m
starting to come around to onions, thanks in large part to Izzy’s sandwiches. The Uncle Ron is proof that next time you’re at Izzy’s, you should try something new. The more I try, the more I find that you really can’t go wrong here.
